Nexus 4 Android OS / Re: 4.3 OTA Looks Good
« on: August 02, 2013, 07:39:45 AM »
I got the OTA update today, but it failed with an "assert failed" error:

Code: [Select]

E:Error executing updater binary in zip '/sdcard/Download/update.zip'
Error flashing zip '/sdcard/Download/update.zip'

Any ideas what this means please ??

I've updated my rooted Nexus 10 & 7 to 4.3 via an OTA download and re-rooted and it's working fine.

TIA.

UPDATE: Looks like something around 18/05/2013 changed the /system/lib/hw/audio.primary.msm8960.so file and created an original.bak file.

I swapped them over and the OTA update completed OK.

Just need to re-root now

May wait for toolkits if no answer.

Nexus 4 Android OS / Re: Bluetooth issues
« on: February 27, 2013, 06:31:20 AM »
I use BT on my Nexus 4 in the car to play music from Google's music cloud and never had an issue.

I have tried my Nexus 7 & 10 as well without issue.

You don't have it in video, panoramic or photosphere mode do you?

There's something on page 44 of the Nexus 4 guide about making Internet calls.

You have to add SIP settings to contacts.

Not tried it, but read on another forum that seeing as it's been in beta-testing for over a year, it's still not as good as Falcon Pro.

I take it you're using it? If so, how does it compare to FP?

Do you not turn it off in ACCESSIBILITY->Talk Back?

I installed Dash Clock last night and added the Falcon Pro extension.

Didn't like it, so uninstalled it ;D

Still using Falcon Pro though - a very good twitter client if anyone is looking for a new one.

Anyone on Twitter? My handle is, surprisingly, @CBers.

No, the UK.

I'm rooted so had to do it manually.
