I tried flashing my N4 last night but it failed!

Fortunately it rebooted OK:

So I now have a complete family of Nexus devices.

Just received my Nexus 4, which now sits along side my Nexus 7 and Nexus 10.

According to Android Authority, Dan Cobley, the Managing Director of Google UK and Google Ireland, has apologised over the lack of stock of the Nexus 4 and poor communication with customers:

" Dear all

I know that what you are going through is unacceptable and we are all working through the nights and weekends to resolve this issue. Supplies from the manufacturer are scarce and erratic, and our communication has been flawed. I can offer an unreserved apology for our service and communication failures in this process.

For those that originally received a 3-5 days shipping estimate, your orders are now in process for fulfillment. You can expect an email notification early this week which will include tracking information. Although you will be initially charged in full, you will receive a credit for the shipping charge soon after.

For others that received pre-Christmas shipping estimates, we anticipate processing your orders for fulfillment this week.

I realise that the people who ordered the Nexus 4 so early are among our most committed and loyal users and we are doing all we can to put things right.

Sorry again.

Dan"

Nexus 4 Root, Hacks, Mods And Development / Nexus 4 rooting toolkits
« on: December 06, 2012, 09:56:48 AM »
There are a few rooting toolkits currently being regularly updated.

One of these is Wug's Nexus Root Toolkit (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1766475), which I personally used to root my Nexus 7, but it now covers most of the Nexus devices.

Another one is mskip's NEXUS 4 TOOLKIT (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1995688). I used mskip's Nexus 10 toolkit to root my Nexus 10, and I know people have used his Nexus 7 toolkit to root their devices.

As I said, both toolkits are being actively updated.

I shall use one of these when my Nexus 4 arrives.

There may be more toolkits, so if you use one, please post about it.

According to theVerge.com, and a few other tech sites, it looks like the Nexus 4 will be available to order in Germany and the UK from 5pm (local time) today.

Get those credit cards out !!

The Lounge: Off Topic Forum / Nexus 4 v. Galaxy S3
« on: December 02, 2012, 01:54:54 PM »
Although I thought the S3 was an excellent phone, I'm seeing quite a lot of lag recently and thought about changing it for a Nexus 4.

Anyone any experience of both S3 and Nexus 4 please? I know Nexus 4s are a bit scarce at the moment.

TIA.
