Ever feel like going on adventure and wish there was a resource that could instantly tell you all the cool stuff around you to do?  Well that's what Local Guru does.  It's an amazing new app...really more than an app...a great resource...that let's you instantly see what cool adventures, activities and interests are close by and hooks you up with a 'guru' to lead you on your adventure or activity.  Using your location you can see a list of adventures led by a local expert or 'guru'.  Perhaps you want to take a hike, or learn to surf or go horseback riding or a mountain biking adventure.  It's a great tool to explore wherever you are and geared to the outdoors adventurer in us all.  Even better, it lets you filter for price and proximity to your location.  You also can click on the map to any location and do a search in that area to see what is available in other areas.  Just think of the possibilities of planning a trip or vacation and being able to tap the location on the map and book a cool adventure where you're going to be.

Now the founder of 'Local Guru' is a great guy named Joseph I had the pleasure of meeting recently in Santa Monica.  Joseph and his team put a lot of effort into procuring only quality adventures and activities led by knowledgeable experts in whatever the adventure is.  The app is constantly being improved and refined and new features are being introduced all the time to ensure that the adventures you go on are of the highest quality.  Give 'Local Guru' a try and if you have any ideas to make it even more useful feel free to send them a note.  Make sure any local experts and 'gurus' you know sign up to offer their activities through Local Guru's app and help spread the word and make Local Guru the national sensation it deserves to be.  Grab the free app at the link below.

You can also learn more about the Local Guru app at their website: www.localguruapp.com

There's not one, but two Chromecast promotions going on right now that when combined end up being quite a deal.  First off, Google is offering any new Chromecast or Chromecast Audio buyer $20 in free Google Play Credit to use for your choice of music, movies or apps.   This offer is good for all new Chromecast purchases as long as they are activated by January 2nd, 2016.  But that's not all.  BestBuy is also offering their own promotion.  You can save $5 on a single Chromecast (now $30 instead of $35) or $15 on two Chromecast or Chromecast Audios when bought together for just $55 for both.  If you consider in addition to this discount you factor in the $20 in Google Play credit you're in effect getting two Chromecasts for $35...the normal price of one.  The Google Play Credit is good no matter where you purchase your new Chromecast as long as it's activated by 1/2/2016.  We've included the link below to Best Buy's Chromecast page where you can get this deal.  Then, once your Chromecasts arrive simply set them up and navigate over to Google's Chromecast page to redeem for your free $20 in Google Play Credit!

If there's something just about anyone will like for a holiday present it's a super fast MicroSD card with lots of memory for their tablet, phone or camera.  Lucky for us Amazon right now has a promotion on Sandisk and Samsung MicroSD cards that are it's lowest prices EVER.  How low?  How about only $9.95 for 32GB, $18 for 64GB, 128GB for only $45 and get this...their super huge and fast 200GB Sandisk card only $99...which is the lowest price we've ever seen anywhere by a large margin.  Now granted for most people 200GB might be overkill for a phone or tablet but personally at these prices we should all stock up on the 32GB, 64GB and 128GB sizes.  imagine having hundreds of movies, thousands and thousands of pictures and songs at your fingertips without having to go to the cloud or move things from your desktop.  Load up at the link below and buy some for all your relatives and friends.

Earlier today our friends at AndroidPolice.com reportedly confirmed that the next Nexus phone will in fact be a 'Nexus 6' made by Motorola and be a whopping 5.9 inches with a qhd resolution display (2560 x 1440).   It is modeled after the 2nd generation Moto X and includes a 13mp camera with OIS, front firing stereo speakers and all around top of the line specs.  It looks like a very impressive piece of hardware but again at a whopping 5.9 inches pushes the term 'phone' to its limits.

This seems all but certain and fits in with previous leaks so we'll be setting up a Nexus 6 Forum at http://Nexus6Forums.com over the next few hours (we never sleep).  Feel free to come by to discuss this first Google Nexus 'phablet' with some outstanding specs.

Nexus 4 Android OS / Massive New KitKat Android 4.4 Info Leaked
« on: October 31, 2013, 01:35:44 AM »
So tonight, on the eve of Halloween Day there's apparently been a major leak of new info by tech columnist Amir Efrati regarding some of the new features we can expect to find in Android 4.4, KitKat.  His Post outlines a number of key details from Android's latest version including major new power saving initiatives that are part of an overall attempt to de-fragmentize the Android base as well as other developments such as; a new push into NFC, support for new sensors such as geomagnetic rotation vector, step detector and step counter, integrated television remote support, Bluetooth HID over GATT and Bluetooth Message Access Profile support so that Android devices will connect with more devices and more.  He also teases that there's a lot more info that he couldn't fit in the initial post but that he'll continue to discuss...and divulge...on his twitter feed and Google+ site at the links below.   One more tidbit he did let go is the introduction of a new 'Full Screen' mode for devices where the navigation menu would remain hidden.  He's got a lively discussion going on on his Google+ account right now where's he's going into more features for those that are interested.  Link below.

It was only a couple of weeks ago that the price of the Nexus 4 was dropped by $100 only to see the 8GB version of LG and Google's Nexus phone to sell out...never to return.  Well now it looks like the same fate has befallen the 16GB version of the Nexus 4.  As can be seen in the screen grab above, the Play store is now all out which makes us think that we can expect an announcement of its replacement any time now.   Nexus 5 anyone?  or perhaps both a Nexus 4 AND Nexus 5?   What do you guys think?

So you're waiting with baited breath for the next Nexus phone to be announced and you're wondering what to do with your current Nexus 4?  Well BestBuy is offering what seems like quite the deal by offering up to $264 in Trade-In value for your used Nexus 4...regardless of if it's the 8GB or 16GB model.  Now just how much you get does depend on the conditions of your device.  For the full $264...your phone should be in perfect condition.  If it's just in 'good' condition, which means perhaps a few light scratches on the case, but not the glass...and everything working perfectly...you'll still get $250.00.   If however your phone is in poor condition...such as heavier scratching and scuffing, but still fully operational, you can get $112.50...which is still pretty good if you think about it.  Of course if your phone isn't working at all or is has some major defect like a completely cracked screen...you're out of luck.  But still...this is a pretty great opportunity if you've been thinking of upgrading to a new phone and didn't know what to do with your Nexus 4.  Not that there's anything wrong with the N4...it's still a terrific device.  But we know some of you like to have the 'latest and greatest'.  Jump on this offer soon either in store or at the link below if interested as it's likely not to last very long!
