Charging indicator light
« on: November 08, 2013, 12:53:27 PM »
Hi guys, finally got my N4 and set it up. Then i plugged it in to the ac outlet was surprised to find no indicator light showing. Did a bit of research and from what I can see this is normal, but weird having no indication.
Can someone confirm that there is no light during charging, and if so, when does the light appear if at all?

there will be no light at all.. why need light? if they put light while charging, you wont get any other importent notifications like missed call.

You could use Lightflow and set up different colours for different notifications.
For example, I have the LED red solid when the battery falls to 15%, solid orange whilst charging until it reaches 100% when it goes solid green. When I get a G+ notification it flashes red fast and a Gmail it flashes red faster.
When I get an SMS it flashes green fast, an MMS green faster and a Hangouts green fastest.
Gold fast for email, White fast for Play store et cetera, et cetera.

Lightflow Lite (free) can set the LED for most system applications. - Link

Lightflow Paid can do a heap more. - Link

Also Lightflow can set notification sounds for all applications including individual sounds for people in your phonebook.

Hey, thanks a lot JayJ very helpful and useful info, will certainly have a look at that, I have noticed I am getting a green blinking light for notifications lately, but the app you are talking about will certainly be helpful.

Again thanks JayJ, unfortunately this app does not work for me, I have read the comments on play store and it seems it is a bit hit and miss. Tried all the tricks to get it working but no luck so off it came. While I had it installed, I noticed my camera widget would keep disappearing?

What problems? I know many people that use it and I've not heard of any problems. I used it on my Nexus 4 and I'm using it now on my Nexus 5??

Just one problem, it doesn't work at all (for me)
tried uninstalling ad reinstalling three times, switched off and on etc. Nothing.
I'm going to give it another go now, got kit kat KRT16S last night so maybe it will
have some magic fix?

Have you granted it Notification access?

To check...

Settings> Security> Device Administration> Notification Access.
