Apps for the Nexus 4...
« on: December 20, 2012, 10:29:40 PM »
Here we can share apps that we like on the Nexus 4...

Light Flow Lite - With this can control the notification LED, you can change it's colour, flash rate and set it differently for multiple applications.

Nexis 4 Dot LWP - Yes I know, a LWP but it's a cool LWP like the back of the Nexus 4.

Enjoy and feel free to post your own...

AdFree for rooted devices.

You may still get the placeholder, but no ads.

I've used Adfree on my X10i, S2 and on my N7 but still deciding whether to root my N4 atm.

EDIT: I hate ads so leaving towards rooting atm.

I rooted and installed Adfree which I'm using on my N7 but when I start Adfree I select boot normally and am told the app is an old version that needs updating. Also it's not appearing in my installed app list on Google Play but it is showing as installed when I search and find the app...

There's a new version of ADFREE:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bigtincan.adfree

The old version (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bigtincan.android.adfree) has been renamed.

Not sure why.

That's because all ad blocking applications in the Play store were removed a while ago radio, apparently it breeched Play store terms.
I'm using Adaway, apps like Adfree use a proxy whereas Adaway edits the host files for ads.
Unfortunately with the Play store banning ad blocking apps the only way to get this is sideload and with the Masterkey Exploit (part 1&2) being in the spotlight many aren't happy to sideload these days.

If anybody wants a copy, let me know. (For rooted devices only)

Ah, thanks for the update JayJ.  I've kept my N4 stock so I can't use any of that here... was just curious.
